Village Links of Glen Ellyn's first Eighteen Hole Course opened for play in July 1967. The course was designed by David Gill. A third nine holes, dubbed the Link-Up Nine, was designed by David Gill and opened for play in July 1975. The Link-Up nine operated as a stand alone 9-hole course in 1975 and 1976, with an entrance on Lambert Road. In 1977 the Link-Up Nine was combined with the original back nine to form a new Village Links 18-hole course. The original front nine became the 9-hole course.
The Nine Hole Course has three water hazards and open fairways. The greens are large, well manicured, and protected by bunkers.
Par for the course is 36. From the back tees the course plays to 3,303 yards. From the foward tees the course plays to 2,744 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 2, a par-5 that plays to 520 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 172 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, the 520 yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Village Links of Glen Ellyn's Nine Hole Course is # 4, the 172 yard par-3.

The only negative I have with this course is the bunkers. When wet, the "sand" becomes mud, and they are basically unplayable. We treat them as grounds under repair, and take free drops from them. For the money, this is one of the better 9 hole courses in the area. We play early in the morning, and our foursome usually plays in around 1:45 or faster. The new clubhouse is finished, very nice restaurant, and the new first hole is almost done, it is a lot better than the old first hole. Driving range is one of the biggest around now.

With the clubhouse under construction and the tee for the first hole closed, this course has been better. Sand traps need attention and new sand. Greens are generally OK.
